About Lessons
Each student is entirely unique and learns in their own way, at their own pace. My teaching methods are tailored to each student, depending on how they learn best and what type of music they are interested in learning to play. I offer Classical, Celtic, and many other styles of music lessons from beginning stages through advanced, child through adult. Along with standard repertoire, students will also work on scales, arpeggios, and etudes to develop good technique. My fiddle students learn music both by ear and also from music. I believe it is important to develop note reading skills as well as a good ear.

I have been teaching since 2008 and love teaching all genres of music. Through the years I have explored the world and found musicians in the most amazing and sometimes random places. From all these experiences I have learned that music is a universal language and it is amazing to be able to join in with other musicians whether in be in a pub in Scotland, an airport in Amsterdam or Novia Scotia, or a beach in Costa Rica. Music has brought me some of the most beautiful and memorable experiences. I want to pass that gift on to my students so they are comfortable with all types of music whether it be in the symphony ,the session, or beyond.
Location and Rates
Private lessons are held in my home studio in
Bloomfield, New Mexico. I also offer Skype Lessons for students who are too far away to attend regular lessons.

30 Minutes - $25
45 Minutes - $40
60 Minutes - $50
90 Minutes - $75

Lesson Policies
Daily practice is essential for students to learn how to play the violin, viola, or piano. Learning an instrument is a big time commitment. Progress only happens if you or your child are dedicated and willing to put in the work at home as well as at the lessons. The only way we can move forward is if they are prepared for lessons every week.
I encourage young student's parents to come into the lesson with their child so they can also learn and help them practice at home.
Payment for lessons are made at the first lesson of each month. Full payment for the entire month is due at this time. If the student can not make a scheduled lesson, makeup lessons will be arranged if possible. If a student misses many lessons, is repeatedly not prepared for lessons, or lessons are not paid for on time, the student may be dismissed from the studio at the teachers discretion.
